Not affiliated with WaMu, or JPMorgan Chase, not an organization, just a burned shareholder seeking compensation.

This page is main stream media news concerning primarily WMI's suit against the FDIC, and the WMI Chapter 11 bankruptcy. There are many smaller lawsuits involving WMI or the WMB, and word of them usually does not make it into the main stream news. These smaller suits when they make the news will be lumped into a catch all "other" catagory. Only the main issues which make the main stream news are included. One or two news articles which cover each issue or event is all that is included, so as not to be repetitive. This page is intended as a catch-up or refresher page, and to serve as a timeline of what has happened in each case.

Other Suits - these little cases are not followed well in the press and the below is offered as a sampling:

There is a lawsuit by preseizure longs against WaMu executives for allegedly relaxing their lending standards and risk management polices and thus misrepresenting the quality of its loan portfolio. This suit was started before the seizure.

A group of Insurance Companies that held WaMu bonds filed suit in Texas against the FDIC for the WaMu Bank seizure. The case was then moved to the same US District Court as WMI's suit against the FDIC. Their suit is the American National Insurance Co., et al. v FDIC. It is sometimes referred to as the Texas Suit or Texas Action, even though it is now being heard in Washington DC. There are some details at American National Insurance Company et al vs. FDIC.

The Dora Bank of Puerto Rico has filed a similiar suit as the preseizure longs and for similar reasons against two WMI subsidiaries Washington Mutual Acceptance Corporation and WaMu Capital Corporation.
